The Starting 5 - Liberty's Top Storylines
• Liberty (3-3, 0-0 ASUN) will renew an old Big South Conference rivalry on Wednesday, traveling to High Point (2-2, 0-0 Big South).
• Wednesday will mark the teams' 56th head-to-head meeting but the first since Liberty's 78-54 triumph in the Big South Championship semifinals on March 10, 2018.
• The Lady Flames are 0-3 on the road this season. They will seek their first win of 2020-21 at the Millis Center, a facility where they own a 26-6 all-time record.
• Emily Lytle paces Liberty's balanced scoring attack with 15.7 ppg. She is 15-of-15 at the free throw line this season and has hit a program-record 27 straight foul shots dating back to March 7, 2020. Lytle knocked down four of the Lady Flames' program-record 14 three-pointers, Sunday versus Carson-Newman.
• Liberty's second and third-leading scorers (Bridgette Rettstatt and Ashtyn Baker) both appeared in all three of the Lady Flames' victories over High Point during the 2017-18 season, their freshman year. Baker is coming off season highs in points (19), assists (5) and triples (4) during Sunday's victory.
Notes and Anecdotes - Liberty vs. High Point
• Liberty will renew an old Big South Conference rivalry, Wednesday at High Point. The Lady Flames and Panthers will be meeting for the 56th time, making High Point by far the most familiar opponent on Liberty's 2020-21 schedule. William & Mary is next, as the Lady Flames' visit to Williamsburg on Tuesday will be the 19th all-time meeting between the Commonwealth foes.
• Liberty was picked to finish second in the ASUN, while High Point was picked second in the Big South. Both teams have won back-to-back games following slow starts to the season.
• Current Liberty seniors Ashtyn Baker and Bridgette Rettstatt helped the Lady Flames go 3-0 against High Point during their freshman season (2017-18). No current High Point players were part of that Panther team.
• Liberty's Dee Brown and High Point's Chyna McMichel were teammates at Miami Dade College in 2018-19.
• Liberty freshman Nyah Stallings will play just seven miles from her alma mater, Ragsdale High School, on Wednesday.
• Second-year High Point Head Coach Chelsea Banbury was associate head coach at FGCU in 2018-19. Her team beat Liberty three times that season, including a victory in the 2019 ASUN Championship title game.
Millis Center Memories
• Wednesday will mark Liberty's 33rd and final visit to the Millis Center, as High Point is scheduled to move into Qubein Arena for the 2021-22 season.
• Liberty is 26-6 all-time at the facility. The Lady Flames won three Big South Championship titles (2009, 2010 and 2012) at the Millis Center.
• The Lady Flames' last visit to the Millis Center resulted in a 65-42 Liberty victory, Jan. 30, 2018. One day after her 19th birthday, Ashtyn Baker dished out seven assists during her team's 700th victory in program history. High Point shot 0-of-16 from three-point range.
