Liberty sophomore Abigail Egolf-Jensen placed fifth in women's one-meter diving during Friday's opening day of the inaugural Navy Diving Invitational.
This weekend's invitational is being held at the United States Naval Academy's Lejeune Hall, which was the site of the 2019 NCAA Zone Diving Championships.

Notable
• This weekend's meet features divers from Liberty, Navy, Penn State and Marist. Liberty has more divers in the field (5) than any of the other teams.
• Penn State's Christina Crowell won the women's one-meter diving event. It was a tight field after that, with fewer than six points separating second (Marist's Esabelle Gervasio – 238.05) from sixth place (Navy's Caroline Turner – 232.70). Egolf-Jensen finished fifth with 232.90 points in the final, scoring 10.8 more points than she did in prelims.
• Today was Robinson's first appearance in a meet since winning one-meter and finishing second on three-meter at the season-opening Penn State Sprint Fest on Oct. 4, 2019.
• Egolf-Jensen, Robinson and Lauren Chennault all gave Liberty its first NCAA postseason diving experience, competing in the 2019 NCAA Zone Diving Championships, which were held at the same facility as this weekend's invitational.
