
Flames Open ASUN Play at North Florida on Saturday, Visit Unbeaten Navy Tuesday

The Flames will look to extend their winning streak to three games, when they open ASUN Conference at North Florida on Saturday. The contest will begin a three-game road swing for Liberty. The Flames will also visit unbeaten Navy and finish up the swing with an ASUN contest at NJIT.

Liberty Notables
• Liberty notched back-to-back victories for the first time in 2019, this past week. The Flames downed George Mason on the road 3-1 this past Saturday and shut out VMI 1-0 at home on Tuesday.
• Liberty is 2-1 on the road, so far in 2019. The Flames won 3-1 at George Mason in their last road contest.
• Entering their second season of ASUN play, the Flames were picked to finish fourth in the 2019 ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll. Last season, Liberty posted a 2-3-1 mark in league play, placing fifth.
• North Florida and Liberty met for the first time in each of their program's history on the soccer field last season. UNF defeated Liberty 3-2 at Osborne Stadium on Sept. 29, 2018. The Flames jumped out to a 2-0 lead, before the Ospreys scored the final three goals of the contest to come away with the victory.
• Liberty and Navy have not met since 2002. Navy is unbeaten at 6-0 and is currently recieving votes in the national rankings.
• Musa Morris and Seth Clark have combined on a goal in each of the Flames' last two contests. Clark assisted on each of Morris' goals in Liberty's victories, this past week.
Morris leads Liberty with two goals, while Clark paces the Flames with three assists. Four other Flames have scored a goal this season.
• Freshman Danny Cordero has started as the Liberty goalkeeper in each of the last three contests. Cordero has posted a 1.33 goals-against average and was in goal for the Flames' first shutout of 2019 on Tuesday, a 1-0 victory over VMI.
• Senior midfielder Ruben Garcia has started 31 straight contests for the Flames. The streak spans three seasons.
