As Liberty continues its successful swimming & diving season, LFSN reporter Nick Pierce had a chance to interview redshirt sophomore swimmer Mikayla Herich.
A native of Hebron, Ky., Herich is in her first year at Liberty after transferring from Ohio. She has made an immediate impact in the pool, and currently holds the top time in the CCSA this season in both the 1000 freestyle (10:06.54) and 1650 freestyle (16:50.16). Herich is also ranked second in the conference for the 400 IM (4:25.50).
The Lady Flames hold an 11-0 record on the season, and are currently in the midst of a 19-dual-meet winning streak, dating back to Oct. 27, 2017. Liberty will split its squad on Saturday, with the swimmers competing at UNC Asheville and the divers participating in a meet at Georgia Southern. Both of those meets will begin at 11 a.m.
