
No. 1 Tar Heels Get Past No. 19 Lady Flames, Sunday

The top-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels defeated the No. 19 Liberty Lady Flames 7-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Liberty Field Hockey Field.
UNC, who featured six different goal scorers in the contest, remains unbeaten at 13-0. Liberty is now 9-4 on the season and has dropped two of its last three games.
The Tar Heels' Catherine Hayden scored twice in the win, while the Lady Flames' Jill Bolton scored the only goal of the game for the home side.

Turning Point
The Tar Heels limited the Lady Flames to just one shot in the first half, allowing them to take a 2-0 advantage after 35 minutes on goals from Hayden and Abby Pitcairn. UNC scored five more times in the second half before Liberty finally got on the board near the end of the game.

- North Carolina outshot Liberty 26-10 in the game. The Lady Flames recorded nine of their 10 shots after intermission. Bolton led all players with seven total shots (three on goal).
