
Liberty Welcomes Gardner-Webb to Osborne to Begin Big South Play, Tuesday

The Liberty Flames will open Big South Conference play, Tuesday evening at Osborne Stadium. The Flames will host the high-scoring Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The contest will feature two of the top scoring teams in the nation. The Runnin' Bulldogs lead the country with a 3.00 goals per game average, while the Flames are sixth nationally with a 2.43 goals per game average.
Notables
• Pepe Segarra scored his first goal of the season, as Liberty downed the visiting Wofford Terriers, 3-1, Saturday evening at Osborne Stadium.
•Liberty has outscored its opponents 17-6. The Flames enter tomorrow night's contest sixth in the nation in scoring offense with a 2.43 goals per game average.
•Tresor Mbuyu enters the week 10th in the nation with six goals and eighth in the country with 2.00 points per game average.

• The Flames were picked to finish third in the league standings in the conference's preseason poll. Tresor Mbuyu was selected the 2017 Big South Preseason Attacking Player of the Year.
Conference Play Starts
Tuesday, the Flames will begin Big South Conference play. Liberty was picked to finish third in the league standings in the conference's preseason poll (see page 3).
Liberty will host the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs at Osborne Stadium in Big South action at 7 p.m., before traveling to Buies Creek, N.C., for a match at Campbell on Friday.
