Moroni Doubles up on BIG EAST Conference Honors

Liberty freshman field hockey player Agueda Moroni was named both the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week by the league office today.
Moroni is the first freshman in the BIG EAST this season to be named both offensive player of the week and freshman of the week.
The Cordoba, Argentina, native had an impressive week last week, scoring three goals in two games. Last Friday, Moroni scored two second-half goals to lead Liberty to a 2-1 win at Providence in BIG EAST play. Moroni delivered the equalizer in the 42nd minute and tallied the game-winner in the 54th minute.
On Sunday, the freshman scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season against No. 4 North Carolina in Lynchburg.
Moroni has five goals in her last four matches for the Lady Flames (6-8, 4-2 BIG EAST) and is third on the team in points with 16. She is tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (2) with fellow freshman Kendra Jones.
