
Lady Flames Set for Big South Road Tests

The Liberty Lady Flames lacrosse team takes its undefeated Big South record on the road this weekend. Liberty sits 2-0 in conference play for the first time in program history as the Lady Flames take on Gardner-Webb tomorrow at 6 p.m. followed by Presbyterian on Sunday at 1 p.m..

Series History Versus the Runnin' Bulldogs
Liberty and Gardner-Webb will meet for the first time in program history tomorrow on the lacrosse pitch. The Runnin' Bulldogs are in their inaugural season while the Lady Flames are in their sixth.
Series History Versus the Blue Hose
Liberty and Presbyterian enter this weekend's bout knotted at three games apiece in the all-time series. The Lady Flames have won three of the last four outings against the Blue Hose. Most recently, Liberty bested Presbyterian by a score of 20-10 on April 6, 2014 in Clinton, S.C.
Previewing the Lady Flames
The Lady Flames enter tomorrow's contest with a 4-8 overall record following back-to-back Big South victories. On Saturday, Liberty rolled past Campbell, 21-11 in Lynchburg, Va. The Lady Flames followed up Saturday's performance with a strong showing on Monday, downing Coastal Carolina by a score of 18-8 at the Liberty Lacrosse Field.
Morgan Becker was the highlight of the weekend as the redshirt senior netted nine goals and dished out four assists. In Saturday's victory, Becker notched a program record-tying mark of goals scored in a single game with six and points with nine. Becker enters the weekend second on the team in goals with 22 and third on the team in assists with 12. The co-captain's 34 points ties her with Sam Struss for the second most points on the squad.
Katy Pridemore leads the team in both goals (31) and points (42). Pridemore has netted at least one goal in each of the Lady Flames' 12 contests. The standout freshman has also handed out 11 assists, ranking third on the team. The Florida native is currently tied with Kristin Crowley for the fifth most goals in a single-season in program history.
Struss rounds out Liberty's 20-goal scorers as the senior has netted 21 goals for the third most on the squad. The Pennsylvania native leads Liberty in assists with 13.
Juliann Elmer has received the call in goal in each of the 12 games this season. The junior goalkeeper enters the weekend with a 4-8 overall record. Despite her record, Elmer leads the nation in saves with 156, ranking fourth most in a single-season in program history.
Previewing the Runnin' Bulldogs
Gardner-Webb has yet to find a win in its inaugural season as the Runnin' Bulldogs are 0-11, including a 0-2 mark in Big South action. In its most recent outing, Gardner-Webb fell at Winthrop by a score of 21-4 on Monday. The Runnin' Bulldogs are being outscored by an average of 18.13 to 3.82.
Amanda Steinmuller enters tomorrow's match as the only double-digit goal scorer on the squad with 14 goals. Steinmuller also ranks first on the squad in points with 16.
Gardner-Webb's roster consists of 15 players, 12 of which are freshman. Of the 12 freshman, 10 have played in all 11 contests this season.
Raygan Hall has played in goal in each of the Runnin' Bulldogs 11 outings. The freshman goalkeeper has started in seven of the 11 contests, notching 94 saves on the season.
Previewing the Blue Hose
Presbyterian has yet to find a conference win this season, as the Blue Hose are 3-8 overall, including a Big South mark of 0-2. The Blue Hose will have a chance to secure their first conference win tomorrow against Longwood at 4 p.m. at Martin Stadium in Clinton, S.C.
Presbyterian has dropped three of its last four contests. In their most recent outing, the Blue Hose suffered a 20-6 defeat against High Point on Monday in High Point, N.C.
Katy Richardson has netted 22 goals to lead the attack for Presbyterian. Richardson also leads the Blue Hose in assists with six and points with 28.
Lee-Ann Salim has received the start in all but one contest in goal for the Blue Hose as the freshman goalkeeper is 3-7 on the season. Salim has recorded 68 saves on the season, while allowing 130 goals.
Looking Ahead
The Lady Flames return to action on April 17 when Liberty hosts High Point at 4 p.m. at the Liberty Lacrosse Field. The contest will serve as senior day for the Lady Flames as well as the regular season home finale.
