Liberty junior Hannah Wakeley and freshman Prudence Rooker, who both come from families with an extensive swimming background were recently featured on the LFSN TV show Game On.
Wakeley, a junior from Egg Harbor City, is the latest in a long line of Wakeleys who have competed collegiately. She currently holds the second-fastest 1,000 (10:14.34) and 1,650 (16:59.65) free times in program history. Her father, David, swam and played water polo at Bucknell and was her club swimming coach. Hannah's older sister, Bethany, was a member of the Lady Flames' swimming team from 2010-14. Her brother, Joshua, uncle, Scott Wakeley, aunt, Marion Wakeley Ulmer, uncle, Joseph Wakeley III and grandfather, Joseph Wakeley, Jr., all swam for Penn State.
Rooker, a freshman hailing from Forest Grove, Ore., is from a family where all four of her siblings have competed in collegiate swimming. Rooker was named the CCSA Swimmer of the Week on Nov. 4, and she has swum Liberty's fastest time in both the 100 breaststroke (1:05.51) and 200 individual medley (2:05.96) this season. Her older brother, Gabe, swam at LSU, while brothers Daniel and Jonathon Rooker swam at Kenyon. Prudence's sister, Sharon, currently swims at Stevens Institute of Technology.
