
Sutarik Named Big South Defensive Player of the Week

Liberty goalkeeper Scott Sutarik has been named the Big South Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played Oct. 6-12.
Sutarik, a senior from Palatine, Ill., faced 18 shots, but did not allow a goal in the Flames' 1-0 victory at Gardner-Webb, Saturday. The senior made four saves in the victory.
The shutout was Sutarik's third of the season and the 19th of his career. With the shutout, he tied Dean Short (1998-2001) for third on the program's career list.
The honor is his first Big South Defensive Player of the Week plaudit this season and the second of his career. Sutarik received the honor for the week ending Sept. 8 last season after a 4-0 win over IUPUI.
Sutarik and Liberty will host No. 20 American at, tomorrow at Osborne Stadium. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
