
Rounding the Bases with Kelly Strickland

Today's "Rounding the Bases" segment features Kelly Strickland, a sophomore infielder from Tabor City, N.C.
Strickland has started all 43 games for the Lady Flames this season, all at shortstop. She leads the team in five statistical categories, including slugging percentage (.689), hits (45), RBIs (49), home runs (14) and total bases (93). She is hitting .333 on the season and is currently on a six-game hitting streak. She also leads all Big South players in home runs and RBIs.
Strickland, the daughter of David and Dorothy Strickland, is a graduate of South Columbus High School. She is a kinesiology major at Liberty and hopes to become a physical therapist.

RADFORD, because they beat us out of the Big South Tournament last year.

If I were named "Coach for a Day", I would make my coaches (and why) …
This is mainly for Coach Wetmore… I would make him come to pilates with us because I would love to see how he reacts.
My favorite thing about being a part of the Liberty softball team is …
The way we all get along. If we have to hurt each other's feelings by telling them the blunt truth it would be okay, because we are always looking out for each other.
My personal goals this season are …
To help my team the best way possible, and do whatever it takes to be the best for them.
What is the most exciting thing you did this summer?
Meredith Basiden came to North Myrtle Beach for vacation and we hung out all day together.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
Myrtle Beach, of course. Even though it's in my backyard, it's still amazing.
Do you have any pre-game habits/rituals, and what are they?
I usually go behind second base and write "LBWMWIP". It means "Lord be with me while I play".
What is the best advice you have ever received, and who gave it to you?
"Don't let anyone tell you that you're not good enough." –My brother, Bradley "Brilly" Strickland
