The Lady Flames are preparing for a busy weekend, as they will host Big South Conference opponent Gardner-Webb in a three-game series on Friday and Saturday, followed by a non-conference doubleheader at home against visiting George Washington on Sunday afternoon.
A doubleheader against Gardner-Webb is scheduled for Friday starting at 2 p.m., followed by a single game on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. The two-game tilt with George Washington will begin on Sunday at 1 p.m.
All games will be available via live stats on www.libertyflames.com.
The Lady Flames (23-11, 6-3 Big South) are on a three-game winning streak after sweeping James Madison, 5-1 and 6-4, on Wednesday at Liberty Softball Field, and taking two out of three games on the road from Charleston Southern, last weekend.
The Liberty offense has been consistently performing as of late, as six Lady Flames are batting .300 or better. Cassie Hendrix leads the squad with a .375 average, and is on a four-game hitting streak. Hendrix, who is posting the best offensive numbers of her career, has raised her batting average 100 points since March 20.
Kelly Strickland, batting .346 on the year, busted two home runs on Wednesday against JMU, giving her 12 bombs on the year to tie for eighth in program history for home runs in a single season. She is also tied for first in the Big South with the most home runs this year, and leads all conference players with a .738 slugging percentage.
