The Liberty women's basketball team is playing well down the stretch, as the Big South Women's Basketball Championship quickly approaches. The Lady Flames have won five games in a row, by an average of 17.8 ppg. Nick Pierce caught up with freshman guard LaKendra Washington and head coach Carey Green to chat about the team's recent success and preview the final two contests of the regular season.
The Lady Flames, now 22-5 overall and 12-2 in the Big South, will close out the 2009-10 regular season with a pair of home tilts at the Vines Center. Liberty will host Commonwealth rival Radford Friday at 7 p.m. and welcome High Point to town Monday at 7 p.m. The High Point contest will mark the Lady Flames' Senior Night, and point guard Amber Mays will be recognized prior to tipoff.
