
Liberty Golf Places Sixth at Big South

Final Results
The Liberty men's golf team finished in sixth place out of seven squads at the Big South Men's Golf Championship, played during relatively cloudy conditions at the 7,079-yard, par-72 Patriot Golf Club in Ninety-Six, S.C., Tuesday.
Liberty (926) edged High Point (931) for sixth place, finishing 52 strokes behind Big South champion Coastal Carolina (874). The Chanticleers ran away with the hardware, as Charleston Southern (890) and Radford (891) finished in second and third place, 16 and 17 strokes, respectively, behind the champions.
Jay Calvo (225) tied for 11th at nine-over par, and 11 strokes behind medalist David Dannelly (214) of Coastal Carolina. Nathan Schenz-Davis (230) finished 14-over par, while David Jeh (230) matched Liberty's lone all-conference honoree. Parker McKoy (243) and Andrew Nelson (243) each finished 27-over par.
Dannelly (214) held on to win medalist honors, as Thomas Todd (216) of Presbyterian broke out of a four-way tie for second place coming into the day, taking the sole runner-up spot after shooting even-par for the tournament. Kelvin Day (218) of Charleston Southern placed third at two-over, and ended up four strokes behind Dannelly.
Liberty will conclude its 2007-08 season at the Cavalier Classic, hosted by Virginia. The two-day tournament will tee off at the Birdwood Golf Course, on Saturday in Charlottesville, Va.
