Liberty Men's Soccer Included in South Atlantic Region Poll for Eighth-Consecutive Week

For the eighth-straight week, the Liberty Flames men's soccer team appears among the top teams in the South Atlantic Region, as the Flames are ranked No. 10 again this week in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) South Atlantic Region poll.
The Flames are 8-4-2 overall and currently hold down second place in the Big South Conference standings with a 3-1 mark in conference play. The eight-week run in the poll is the longest continuous span Liberty has ever been in the regional rankings. For the third time in four weeks, a new team tops the poll, as Boston College ascends to the No. 1 spot this week.
"I'm very proud that with all the adversity this group has faced, we have been able to sustain a high level of consistency all season," commented Liberty Head Coach Jeff Alder. "We have played seven regionally or nationally ranked teams this year, and I think the rankings reflect the strength of our schedule."
This past week, the Flames fell at Virginia, currently ranked No. 10 nationally and No. 3 in the South Atlantic Region poll, 3-0, while having their game scheduled for this past Friday with Presbyterian canceled due to the rains in the Lynchburg area.
This week, Liberty will travel to High Point, N.C., on Wednesday night, for its final road contest of the regular season. The Flames will square off with the High Point Panthers in a Big South match, beginning at 7 p.m.
