Maddie Mullen assumed her role as Assistant Athletic Performance in Nov. 2024. In her current position, she works with the Liberty Women’s and Men’s Soccer programs.
Prior to coming to Liberty, Mullen served as the Head of Strength and Conditioning at Focus Performance Center and PDG Baseball Academy from 2022-24. Before that, she was a Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at IMG Academy from 2021-22, working with women’s soccer, tennis, football, baseball and men’s and women’s lacrosse. Prior to IMG Academy, she was a Sports Performance Graduate Assistant at Salisbury University from 2019-21, working with the men’s and women’s soccer programs as well as the track & field and cross country teams. Mullen’s first experience out of college was serving as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Washington College from 2017-19. It was there that she worked with the women’s lacrosse, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s rowing, women’s basketball and baseball programs.
Mullen earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Washington College in 2017. She went on to earn a master’s degree in applied health physiology from Salisbury in 2021.
Mullen played lacrosse collegiately for Washington College from 2013-17. Mullen’s husband is Luke Lowery, a baseball coach at University of Lynchburg. Originally from Fair Haven, N.J., Mullen now resides in Lynchburg.
