Following a highly successful run as the head coach at Emmanuel University, Logan Reese was named Liberty’s new assistant men’s golf coach on July 6, 2026.
Reese came to the Mountain following four seasons as the head coach at Emmanuel, an NCAA Division II program from Franklin Springs, Ga.
During the 2025-26 season, Emmanuel captured its first Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship and earned the program's first automatic berth into the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional
The Lions also climbed to No. 47 in the national rankings and established numerous program records while competing against many of the nation's top Division II programs.
The championship season culminated in Reese being named Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Coach of the Year and saw the Lions swept the conference's major postseason awards.
Sophomore Lukas Lautrup-Nissen was named Conference Carolinas Golfer of the Year, freshman Gabriel Hull earned Freshman of the Year, and junior Pietro Fenoglio joined both teammates on the All-Conference Team.
Hull later qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship after finishing tied for fifth at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional. He was also selected to the PING All-Region Southeast team and was named to the 2026 NCAA Division II PING All-America third team.
During the 2024-25 season, Reese guided Emmanuel to a pair of top five finishes, including a third-place showing at the Sherman B. Smith Memorial and a fourth-place finish at The Rendleman.
During the 2023-24 season, Emmanuel set numerous program records, including a new season scoring average that bested the previous mark by five shots.
Numerous Lions received individual accolades, including two conference Player of the Week awards for seniors Pelayo Sol and one for Markel Olasagasti. Additionally, Jack Garcia was named Freshman of the Month twice.
At the end of the season, Sol was selected to the Conference Carolinas third-team all-conference squad, while Olasagasti was a second-team selection. Additionally, both Sol and Olasagasti were named GCAA Cobalt All-America Scholars.
During his first year as head coach in 2022-23, Reese led the Lions to two tournament victories, four top five finishes and a 51-spot improvement in the national rankings.
During the 2021-22 season, Reese served as an assistant coach at Emmanuel, helping the Lions to a team victory at the 2022 Lake Sinclair Bulldog Invitational.
Reese graduated from Emmanuel in 2021, receiving a bachelor's of business administration degree and earning valedictorian honors with a 3.99 cumulative GPA.
During his senior year, Reese was also the recipient of the Conference Carolinas Elite 23 award as the competitor with the highest GPA at the conference championship. He was twice named a GCAA All-America Scholar.
Reese recorded a pair of second place finishes in his college career. The first of which came at the NCCAA Southeast Regional, where he birdied the final hole to card a 72 and earn an NCCAA National Championship bid.
Reese, who is a native of Daytona Beach, Fla., is joined on the Mountain by his wife, Tabitha, and their son, Levi.
