Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
I chose Liberty University to pursue my dream of playing D1 soccer. My first visit on campus was amazing, so much that I verbally committed that night when I got home. Besides the campus being so beautiful, the coaches and players cared about me. I knew that I would have coaches who truly wanted me to be my best on and off the field. I also knew that I would make life-long friends here and would grow my relationship with the Lord.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
I call or text my mom before going out to warm-ups.
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
My mom inspires me so much every day because she has always and continues to push me to be my very best. It’s that tough love sometimes that has made me who I am today.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
My most memorable athletic moment is my goal last season in the spring against UNC.
If you picked your jersey/uniform number, why is that number important to you?
I chose #7 this year because it has always been my favorite number. I think this is because I am the youngest in a family of 7.
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
My older sister, Hannah Arostegui played D1 soccer at UNC at Wilmington and my cousin, Rachel Marthinsen also played D1 tennis at the same college.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
I can’t start my day without breakfast, and I love pancakes! I love making them and eating them.
What is the first app you check on your phone each day?
I always check my messages first when I wake up.
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
I love to play pickleball or golf, but outside of sports it would be watercolor painting.
Do you have any current pets (name and type of animal)?
I have a miniature Golden doodle named Rosie and a miniature Berne doodle named Hazel.
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
My favorite athlete growing up was Alex Morgan when I was little.
What is your favorite possession and why?
My favorite possession is my cow Warmie that I sleep with every night.
What is your Go-To karaoke song?
Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani
What is your dream vacation spot and why?
My dream vacation is Hawaii because I want to go in the clear ocean water and go on a lot of hikes and eat the fresh food and so much more.
