Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
Before I committed to Liberty University, I had loss my father to stage 4 colon cancer. It was hard, especially, on my mom. She was struggling and my family was still grieving the absence of my father. It was then that I found Liberty University and believed it was a message from God. To build my faith and love for the lord. It was the people, my future teammates and coaches, that showed me the opportunities and incredible community at Liberty. Which, all in all, helped me make my final decision.
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
The person that inspires me the most is my mom. She has been through it all and to have a loving, kind, and supportive female figure in my life has been amazing because she always has my back and is/will always be my biggest fan.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
One of my biggest goals in life and when I first began playing lacrosse was to win a state championship. After 8 years of hard work, of struggle, and pain. My Senior Year, I won state with my younger sisters. I was speechless and also emotional, but it felt amazing.
If you picked your jersey/uniform number, why is that number important to you?
In the past, my jersey number was always given to me, but this year I chose 5. I've never had a single digit number. But I am excited to rep the number of my mom’s birth month!
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
My sister, Axey Vang, Age 24, NAIA D2 Women’s College, Lacrosse at LTU University, in Detroit Michigan.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
