One of the greatest throwers in program history, two-time All-American Kevin Nedrick will remain at Liberty to work with the throwers as an assistant.
Nedrick closed out his collegiate career by placing fifth in the men’s discus at the 2023 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. His ASUN Conference-record 203-2 heave earned first team All-America honors.
Nedrick had previously placed 11th in the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships men’s discus final to earn his first All-America notation.
A two-time ASUN event champion, Nedrick ranks No. 2 all-time for the Flames in both the discus (203-2) and indoor shot put (63-5). He was the Most Valuable Male Performer and Men’s Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2022 ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Nedrick competed two years apiece at Barton Community College (2017-19) and Minnesota (2019-21) prior to his arrival at Liberty. He was the National Field Athlete of the Year at the 2019 NJCAA Outdoor Championships after winning his second NJCAA national title of the year (men’s discus). Nedrick had earlier claimed the men’s shot put championship at the 2019 NJCAA Indoor Championship.
A native of Montego Bay, Jamaica, Nedrick set the Jamaican junior shot put record (68-8.5) at the 2017 Jamaican U20 Championships.
Nedrick is working toward a master’s degree in strategic communications from Liberty.
