Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
I was drawn to Liberty by the Christ-centered, loving environment and community that it contains. Being a student-athlete is obviously super exciting, but also a big commitment, and I knew that the Liberty coaches and team have a culture that is set apart by reinforcing that being an athlete is not an identity but a God-given opportunity.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
I like to pray with teammates and listen to music before races to ease my nerves.
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
My parents and grandparents inspire me, because no matter how far away the meet is or what the weather conditions are they show up and support me. They have encouraged me to pursue running in a way that lets me maintain my love for the sport, and I don't know if I would have enjoyed it this deeply without them by my side.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
I know it isn't my main event, but the entire process of running the 4x100 relay was an unforgettable experience because of the girls I ran with. I was sort of thrown into the relay, and I was by no means the most valuable runner on the team, but we ended up getting first and second in the state meets my last two seasons, which was incredible. We worked hard together, but we also had so much fun working together, and the team chemistry we had was something I will always cherish.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
My favorite meal is dinner, and my favorite dinner is probably steak and mashed potatoes.
What is the first app you check on your phone each day?
Weather
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
Hiking
Do you have any current pets (name and type of animal)?
3 dogs (Ruby, Annie, & Penny) and a bunny (Jane)
What is your favorite possession and why?
My baby blanket, just because it is sentimental.
What is your go-to karaoke song?
“Mr. Brightside”
What is your dream vacation spot and why?
Probably Costa Rica, because it has a lot of really pretty beaches and also great hikes and things to do.
