Zach Farquhar joined the Liberty Men’s Basketball program in 2015 as a player. Farquhar was a member of the team from 2015-19 and served as a captain his senior year during Liberty’s historic run in the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
Farquhar began his role as a Graduate Assistant in the summer of 2019 and was elevated to Director of Player Development in May 2021. His primary focus is on player development, scouting, film analysis, mentoring and assisting in recruiting. Throughout his time at Liberty, Farquhar has helped the Flames to three ASUN regular season titles (2019, 2020, 2021) and three ASUN Championship titles (2019, 2020, 2021).
Farquhar earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2018 and a master's degree in exercise science in 2020. Farquhar is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, where he graduated from Sycamore High School.
Zach’s father, Steve, was a member of the Liberty Men’s Basketball team from 1986-90. Zach is married to Jaiden Farquhar, a former Liberty Track & Field athlete. The couple has a son, Kyler.
