Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Tuesday, May 6, 2025, I'm Nick Pierce.
Liberty softball right fielder Rachel Roupe is the Conference USA Player of the Week. Roupe rounded out the regular season Sunday with a home run in Liberty's 7-0 win over FIU. In four games last week, Roupe went 3-for-6 with two homers and four RBIs. Roupe's 20 home runs this year are just one shy of tying the single-season program record of 21, held by Jessica Moore. Roupe and the Lady Flames are the No. 1 seed in this week's Conference USA Championship. Defending champion Liberty will play it's first game on Thursday in Bowling Green, Ky.
On to track & field, the Liberty Twilight Qualifier is scheduled for today at the Matthes-Hopkins Track in Lynchburg. The day-long meet includes entrants from 20 different colleges and universities. The Flames will also recognize their senior class.
And Flames baseball is back at home tomorrow night as Liberty takes on Virginia Tech. First pitch in Lynchburg is set for 6 p.m. Eastern.
