6 Liberty Field Hockey Players Tabbed to 2026 NFHCA Watchlist

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Six Liberty field hockey players have been named to the 2026 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Watchlist.
Liberty's NFHCA Watchlist selections include: junior Dara Semmartin, sophomore Diane Saint Martin, junior Josefina Tomasi, sophomore Paris-Gail Isaacs, sophomore Julieta Tornati and freshman Clarisa Iudicello.
To be nominated for the NFHCA Watchlist, the student-athlete must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years for any of the following: NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American, All-Conference, NCAA All-Tournament Team, USA Field Hockey Senior Nexus Championship Roster, U.S. National Field Hockey Team roster and/or International National Team roster (for their home country of origin).
A total of 211 student-athletes from Division I institutions were tabbed to the 2026 NFHCA Watchlist.
Nominating student-athletes for the NFHCA Watchlist does not constitute a nomination or selection to the NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams. Student-athletes not listed on the NFHCA Watchlist may still be nominated for NFHCA All-Region and All-American recognition when the nomination period opens.
Semmartin is the unanimous 2026 BIG EAST Field Hockey Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and a unanimous Preseason All-BIG EAST team selection. The junior defender earned 2025 Defensive Player of the Year honors and was a NFHCA All-America honoree a season ago as well. She received numerous other distinctions: NFHCA All-South Region first team, All-BIG EAST first team, five-time BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, BIG EAST All-Tournament team and two-time BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Semmartin established a new program single-season record with 16 assists, which was tied for seventh nationally. She finished the year ninth in the country and first in the BIG EAST in assists per game (0.80). Semmartin added six goals and led the team with 26 points.
Saint Martin, a sophomore goalkeeper from Paris, France, is the unanimous BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year and a unanimous Preseason All-BIG EAST selection. She is the reigning BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year after receiving the distinction as a freshman in 2025. Her list of other honors from a season ago include: All-BIG EAST first team, NFHCA All-South Region second team, BIG EAST All-Tournament team, NFHCA Division I Defensive Player of the Week, NFHCA Division I Defensive Player of the Week honorable mention, two-time BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week and two-time BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Saint Martin posted a 17-3 record and 0.88 goals-against average as a freshman, the best single-season goals-against average in program history. Her .775 save percentage ranked eighth nationally and second in the BIG EAST, and she added eight shutouts (tied for most in a season in school history) and 62 total saves. Saint Martin finished the year at No. 5 in the country and No. 1 in the BIG EAST in goals-against average (0.88) while also pacing the league and ranking No. 4 in the nation in goalie win-loss percentage (.850).
Tomasi, a junior forward from Cañada de Gómez, Argentina, was an NFHCA All-South Region first team selection last fall and was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST squad this year. She earned All-BIG EAST second team recognition in 2025 and garnered one BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week award. Tomasi ended last year with seven goals (tied for No. 1 on team), five assists (No. 3 on team) and 19 points (No. 3 on team).
Tornati, a sophomore defender/midfielder from Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a 2026 Preseason All-BIG EAST team honoree. Last year as a freshman, she was an All-BIG EAST second team honoree. Tornati was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on two occasions. She tallied five goals, three assists and 13 points and led the squad with three game-winning goals.
Isaacs, a sophomore midfielder/defender, is currently competing for her home country of South Africa at the 2026 FIH World Cup and also played for her country at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Isaacs appeared in 16 contests with 15 starts in 2026. She finished the year with two assists, two points and eight shots on goal while helping the Liberty defensive unit record eight shutouts.
Iudicello, a freshman midfielder/forward, represented her country at the 2026 Junior Pan American Cup in Santiago, Chile, playing for the Argentina U21 National Team. The Córdoba, Argentina native helped the squad win the gold medal and finished the event with five goals (second most on team) in seven matches.
No. 8-ranked Liberty will open its 2026 campaign on Friday at Maine. Match time is noon from the UMaine Field Hockey Complex in Orono, Maine.
