
Liberty Finishes No. 87 in 2025-26 Learfield Cup Standings

After claiming 11 conference championships during the 2025-26 athletics season, Liberty has posted its fourth-best finish in school history in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings.

Liberty finished the 2025-26 season ranked No. 87 in the latest ranking released by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). The annual listing ranks the top collegiate athletics departments in the country each year.

Liberty has finished within the top 100 of the Learfield Directors' Cup standings six of the last seven rankings and eight times total in athletics department history.

This year's ranking is Liberty's fourth best in athletics department history, ranking behind 2020-21 (No. 72), 2021-22 (No. 74) and 2001-02 (No. 82).

Liberty was the top-ranked Conference USA program in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings. The Flames bested second-place Jacksonville State (No. 95) and third-place finisher Louisiana Tech (No. 153).

Additionally, Liberty was one of 14 non-P4 schools that play FBS football to finish inside the top 100 of the 2025-26 Learfield Directors' Cup standings. Liberty ranked ninth among the 14 schools.

Liberty Athletics earned nine CUSA championships during the 2025-26 athletics season, bringing its total to 30 CUSA trophies during its first three years of conference membership.

Women's tennis captured its first-ever CUSA title, giving every Liberty program at least one NCAA Division I conference crown in its history.

Women's soccer swept the CUSA regular-season and tournament titles, while men's basketball (regular season), men's golf, men's indoor track & field, men's outdoor track & field, women's cross country and women's outdoor track & field each collected single CUSA championships.

Field hockey claimed the BIG EAST regular-season and tournament championships, giving the Flames a total of 11 conference titles for 2025-26.
