HARRISONBURG, VA. – Hugo Kopke scored two goals as the Liberty Flames tied James Madison Dukes 2-2 on a rainy evening at Sentara Park.
Kopke, returning from injury, scored his first two goals of the season for the Flames. The defender gave Liberty a 1-0 lead during the eighth minute of the contest and later tied the game with his second goal of the season during the 67th minute.
The match was a back-and-forth affair with neither team gaining the upper hand on a wet pitch during the 90 minutes of play in the non-conference match.
With the tie, Liberty finishes a five-game road swing, the second-longest span of road matches in a row.
The Flames move to 2-4-2 overall on the year. The Dukes are now 3-4-1 on the season.
