LYNCHBURG, Va. – A total of 148 Liberty Flames student-athletes are being recognized as part of the 2026 Liberty University graduating class this week.
The list of 148 student-athletes includes December 2025, May 2026 and Summer 2026 graduates. Liberty University is celebrating its 2026 graduating class with the main commencement ceremony on Friday night at Williams Stadium and in-person degree presentation ceremonies Thursday through Saturday for its 53nd Commencement exercises.
"Liberty's mission is to train champions for Christ, and that is what you are. You are champions in your sport, champions in the classroom, champions for Christ and champions in the community," said Liberty Vice President and Director of Athletics Ian McCaw. "Your Liberty degree will set you up for great success in the years to come. May God bless each of you."
The 148 Liberty student-athletes are among the over 32,000 total Liberty University graduates expected this May. Commencement 2026 is expected to be one of the largest in the school's history. Liberty is preparing for over 70,000 graduates, family members, friends and other special guests to participate in Commencement events on campus.
"Every new beginning is the result of hard work, dedication and sacrifice," said Liberty Senior Associate Athletic Director for Academic Affairs Kristie Beitz. "For our 2026 graduates, we are excited to celebrate their achievements in the classroom, on the field of competition and the mark they have made at Liberty University. May they continue to find success!"
On May 4, Liberty Athletics held a Sparky Sendoff event on the third floor of Carter Tower at Williams Stadium to recognize the accomplishments of the graduating class.
Liberty Athletics would like to congratulate this talented and unique group of 148 individuals for finishing their degrees, as well as applaud their many on-the-field accomplishments during their time as Liberty student-athletes.
Many of these individuals helped Liberty win conference championships. However, all have proudly donned a Liberty Athletics uniform, while striving to become Champions for Christ.
*-All data reported is based on preliminary numbers for the 2025-26 academic year.
