LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty women's tennis team will send one doubles team to each of the ITA Sectional Championships in Philadelphia, Pa., and the ITA Conference Masters Championship in Rome, Ga. Both events start on Thursday and run through Sunday.
The team will be sending Daniella O'Neill and Aranai Martinez to the ITA Sectionals. The pair qualified for the event after finishing in the semifinal round of the ITA Atlantic Regional with four doubles triumphs. They will be the first in program history, singles or doubles, to participate in the event. The Sectional Championships consist of qualifying teams from Regional Championships, including the Atlantic, Carolina, New England and Northeast regions.
Last season's No. 1 doubles pair of Yoanna Radulova and Maria Turchetto will represent Liberty and Conference USA at the ITA Conference Master's Championship. Liberty sent Turchetto, along with O'Neill) to the tournament as a pair in 2024, where they earned a 3-2 record.
Both doubles teams could qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship. 12 doubles teams from the Sectional Championships will advance, while just four from the Conference Masters will advance.
If both teams fail to advance, the events will mark the conclusion of the Fall season. Liberty opens the 2027 season at NC State on Jan. 14 and opens at home, welcoming Georgetown on Jan. 17.
