No. 71 Men’s Tennis Travels to Florida for Two Matches

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The No. 71 Liberty men's tennis team (8-8) eyes to take two matches in Florida when they face No. 74 USF on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and battle FAU on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Liberty is coming off a road defeat at Charlotte, falling 6-1 despite securing the doubles point.

The team has plenty of recent history against both teams they will square off with this weekend. Liberty has met both USF and FAU in each of its previous two seasons. The Flames are 1-3 all-time against USF and 3-2 in program history against FAU.

The Flames continue to face challenging competition this season. With the current ITA rankings, they have met No. 23 Auburn, No. 26 Arizona State, No. 30 UC Santa Barbara, No. 31 Princeton, No. 37 Yale, No. 44 Penn, No. 45 Georgia Tech and No. 51 Charlotte.

No. 71 Liberty is one of four CUSA men's tennis programs to own a national ITA team ranking. Out of five total CUSA teams, they are joined by No. 43 MTSU, No. 73 Jacksonville State and No. 75 Kennesaw State.
Collectively, the Flames are 46-43 (.517) in singles and 22-16 (.579) in doubles.
The Flames are 3-1 in their last four matches in the No. 1 doubles position, while owning a 4-8 record for the season in the position.
The No. 2 doubles slot owns a 10-4 record with No. 3 sporting an 8-4 mark.
Chase Robinson leads the team with a 9-5 singles record. He is 5-1 in the No. 6 singles slot.
Rodrigo Santiago Arraez holds the No. 1 singles position with a 6-7 overall record.
