LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty women's tennis (8-3) team builds on an impressive start to the season with a pair of victories, 4-3 over Marshall on Friday and a 4-0 topping of East Carolina on Sunday at home. The triumphs give the Lady Flames a three-match winning streak.
The bottom half of Liberty's singles lineup carried the Lady Flames with a 5-0 mark across the two matches. The Lady Flames went 4-1 in doubles action.

In Friday's match against Marshall, Liberty clinched the critical doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. Yoanna Radulova and Maria Turchetto defeated Alina Mokrynska and Polina Gumeniuk, 6-4, at No. 1 doubles, while Daniella O'Neill and Milana Tsulygina followed with a 7-5 victory over Sarah Copley and Thalia Smith at No. 2 doubles. The match at No. 3 doubles, featuring Celina Joseph and Candy Wai for the Lady Flames, was left unfinished with a 5-4 score against Marshall's Johanna Strom and Paula Berzina.
In singles play, Liberty extended its lead with a decisive win at No. 5 singles, where Wai ousted Nour El Ouazzani, 6-0, 6-0. Joseph added another point for the Lady Flames at No. 6 singles, defeating Smith, 6-1, 6-4. The Herd responded with Strom's 6-4, 6-3 victory over O'Neill at No. 1 singles, followed by a win from Tsulygina at No. 4 singles, who topped Copley, 6-2, 6-4, to bring the score to 4-1 to clinch the match.
Marshall continued with Mokrynska securing a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Turchetto at No. 3 singles.
