- Liberty (9-10, 3-5 CUSA) will host CUSA newcomer Missouri State (13-7, 5-2 CUSA) for the first time in program history for Alumni Day on Sunday.
- The Lady Bears are one of two opponents Liberty is facing for the first time in 2025-26 (also Hawai'i).Â
- The Lady Flames are looking to get back on track, having lost four straight home games for the first time in nearly a decade. Liberty is 39-6 in conference play at Liberty Arena but 0-3 in CUSA home games this season.Â
- Liberty is 21-2 in its last 23 February outings and 269-142 (65.5 percent) during the month all-time.Â
- Avery Mills, who ranks No. 7 nationally with 3.05 three-pointers per game, became the 16th Lady Flame to reach 100 career triples during Friday's 74-61 setback to FIU. She has scored in double figures in nine straight games and is averaging a team-high 15.8 ppg.
- Elisabeth Aegisdottir has stepped up during CUSA play, averaging 8.8 ppg and 6.0 rpg while shooting 46.7 percent (14-of-30) from beyond the arc. Aegisdottir needs seven boards to join Liberty's all-time top 50 list.
- Missouri State joins Hawai'i as the only first-time opponents on Liberty's 2025-26 schedule. The two teams will quickly become familiar with one another, playing twice in 19 days. That is the Lady Flames' shortest gap between meetings in CUSA play this year.
- Both teams have a rich history of success. Liberty has made 18 NCAA Tournament appearances, reaching the Sweet 16 in 2005. The Lady Bears have gotten to the Big Dance on 17 occasions, including a pair of Final Four trips (1992 and 2001).Â
- The Lady Flames have uncharacteristically struggled at Liberty Arena this season, dropping four straight home games to fall to 3-5 in Lynchburg. Meanwhile, Missouri State is 6-2 in road games, most recently winning 79-54 at Delaware Friday to snap the Fightin' Blue Hens' three-game winning streak.
- Missouri State Head Coach Beth Cunningham is going for her 250th career coaching victory on Sunday. She is 2-2 when facing Liberty as a head coach, with all four meetings coming during her nine years at VCU (2003-04 to 2011-12).
- After facing the national leader in free throw attempts on Friday (FIU), Liberty will meet the squad ranked No. 7 in that category with 23.6 attempts/game. Opponents are shooting 76.3 percent at the line versus Liberty this season.
- Despite dropping their first three CUSA home games, the Lady Flames are 39-6 all-time in conference games at Liberty Arena, including 24-1 in the ASUN and 15-5 in CUSA.Â
- Liberty is 3-5 at home this season, pushing its all-time mark at Liberty Arena to 68-14.Â
- The Lady Flames will look to snap their first four-game home losing streak in six seasons playing at Liberty Arena.
- Liberty's last four-game home losing streak saw the Lady Flames drop their home finale in 2015-16 and their first three home tilts to begin 2016-17.
- Liberty has been successful during its first three years of CUSA membership, headlined by its regular-season and tournament titles in 2024-25.
- The Lady Flames are 35-13 versus CUSA foes over the last three seasons, including 30-12 in conference play, 5-1 in the CUSA Championship, 15-5 at home and 15-7 on the road.
- Liberty has faced three CUSA foes without suffering a loss over the past three years, including Kennesaw State (2-0), New Mexico State (6-0) and UTEP (5-0).Â
- The Lady Flames got off to their first 2-0 conference start as a CUSA member this season.
- However, Liberty followed that hot start with its first three-game conference losing streak since joining CUSA.
- Elisabeth Aegisdottir needs seven boards to become one of the top 50 rebounders in program history.
- Avery Mills hit two triples against FIU on Friday, becoming the 16th Lady Flame ever to reach 100 for her career.
- With 58 three-pointers this season, Mills is five away from moving into a fourth-place tie on Liberty's single-season list. Cynthia Thomson (1990-91) and Mills' former teammates Emma Hess (2022-23) and Asia Boone (2023-24) each knocked down 63 triples in a season. Hess owns the Liberty single-season record of 76, set in 2023-24. Â
