
Liberty Cruises Past Bellarmine 4-0 in Home Opener

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty women's tennis team (2-1) swept Bellarmine (2-4) in its spring home opener on Thursday morning at the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center. The match was the first of two as Liberty prepares to take on Delaware on Friday at 1 p.m.
The Lady Flames swept the doubles round, led by a dominating display on court three with Celina Joseph and Candy Wai securing a 6-1 triumph. Liberty swept doubles 3-0 for the second time this season.
Freshman Milana Tsulygina won Liberty's first singles point with a quick victory over Lillie Willis 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 5 singles match. Junior Candy Wai followed her with a strong 6-2, 6-0 triumph on court four, facing Reese Parker.
Junior Maria Turchetto secured the match-clinching fourth point with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Gracie Hurley in the No. 3 singles match. The remaining three singles matches went unfinished in the second set.
