Golf Program Named to Platform Golf Team Academic Award Listing

Honoring their work off the course and in the classroom, Liberty's men's golf team has been named to the 2024-25 Platform Golf Team Academic Award listing.

Liberty was one of a record-setting 292 schools named to the Platform Golf Team Academic Award listing across six different divisions of college golf.

The Platform Golf Team Academic Award listing consists of teams who posted a 3.0 or higher GPA during the 2024-25 collegiate golf season.

This is the seventh straight year the Liberty men's golf program has been named to the list organized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The Flames have been named to the GCAA's listing 11 times total in program history since 2010.

Last month, the GCAA individually honored two of Liberty's men's golfers for their work in the classroom.

Liberty's Ike Joy and Pascal Gunther were named to the 2025 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars team. This GCAA listing honors golfers with a 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA, played in 50 percent or more of the team's events and held a stroke average of 76.0 or better.

Liberty has placed at least one golfer on the Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars team for the last nine seasons and has had 23 total golfers named to the list since 1993 (for a total of 38 selections).
