LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty's Siwanat Auytayakul concluded his summer match play with an exclamation point, going 4-0 in doubles and securing the title at the M15 Nakhon Pathom in Thailand as part of the ITF World Tennis Tour.
The rising sophomore topped former Flame, Thando Longwe-Smit in the first round with a 6-1, 6-3 final. Auytayakul and his partner, Markus Malaszszak, were victorious in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds with two-set triumphs. In the semifinal round, Auytayakul faced off with a familiar doubles partner, Thailand's own Thantub Suksumran.
In the championship match, the pair were pitted against Indonesia's M Rifqi Fitriadi and South Korea's Juhhyeon Lee. The first set was tightly contested as Auytayakul's side earned the 6-4 set win. The two left little room for a comeback, taking the second set 6-2 to secure the tournament title.
The title marks Auytayakul's second title in the Men's Doubles division. He previously won the title at the M15 Hong Kong in 2024 before arriving to Liberty as a freshman.
The Bangkok, Thailand native wraps up his impressive summer with the doubles title. He finished as runner-up in the doubles tournament in an earlier M15 Nakhon Pathom (July 28-Aug. 3) with a 3-1 record. Overall in doubles, Auytayakul accumulated an 8-2 record as part of three separate events in Thailand.
Auytayakul also left his mark in the singles division, receiving strong results against highly touted opponents. He collected a 9-5 singles record, including a 5-1 record at the M15 Nakhon Pathom (July 21-27). With their current ITF Singles rankings, the Liberty sophomore bested Abhinav Sanjeev Shanmugam (7), Dominik Palan (572), Michal Zhu (629) and Krittin Koaykul (847), among others.
At the end of his play this summer, Auytayakul owns a career-high 1508 ITF singles ranking and also holds a 1479 ITF doubles ranking. He increased his World Tennis Number (WTN) singles to 9.0 and his doubles number to 10.6.
