One of Liberty's top returning offensive linemen has been recognized as one of the top offensive players to hail from the state of Texas.
    Â
Liberty's Jack Tucker has been named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award preseason watch list.
    Â
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.
    Â
In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas high school and/or currently playing at Texas Division I four-year college.
    Â
Tucker is from Argyle, Texas, and graduated from Argyle High School. He also started his college career at Texas Tech where he was a member of the team during the 2021 and 2022 season. Tucker redshirted in 2021 and did not see any playing time in 2022, but he was named to the Academic All-Big 12 team.
    Â
During his two seasons at Liberty, Tucker has seen playing time in 25 games. He started all 12 games of the 2024 season, including 11 at left tackle and one at right tackle (UTEP).
    Â
Tucker ranked fourth on the team in offensive snap count in 2024 (592) and added 56 snaps played on special teams. He helped the Flames rank No. 4 nationally in rushing offense (250.7 yards per game) and No. 20 in fewest interceptions allowed (7).
    Â
Tucker was a reserve member of Liberty's offensive line in 2023, finishing the season with 341 offensive snaps played. He was named to the Conference USA Academic Honor Roll and saw playing time in all 14 games.
    Â
During his high school playing days, Tucker was a consensus three-star prospect by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports. He was named as one of the top 100 players in the state of Texas by both ESPN (No. 98) and Rivals (No. 80).
    Â
Tucker was an all-state selection as a senior where he helped Argyle High School finish the year with a perfect 16-0 record en route to a Class 4A Division I state championship.
    Â
The Watch List announced today will be narrowed to up to 16 semifinalists in November and then up to five finalists in December. They will be selected by broadcasters, commentators, journalists, fans and previous winners. The finalists will be brought to Tyler for The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Banquet scheduled for January 2026.
