After a standout freshman season which included Freshman All-America honors, Liberty's Aaron Fenimore has been named to the Outland Trophy Watch List.
    Â
The Outland Trophy is presented to the nation's most outstanding interior lineman by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).
    Â
Fenimore was one of 50 players named to the list, which features players from nine FBS conferences and independent programs.
    Â
The 2025 season will close with the award's 80th winner selected from players spread among at least 35 different programs.
    Â
Fenimore had a breakout season in 2024 after moving into the starting center role the week prior to the start of the regular season due to an injury on the offensive line.
    Â
The native of Senoia, Ga., was named to The Athletic Freshman All-America team, VaSID All-State Offensive Rookie of the Year, VaSID All-State second team and Conference USA All-Conference first team.
    Â
Fenimore started all 12 games at center and led the offensive line in total snap count (825). He saw playing time in a team-high 96.0 percent of Liberty's total offensive plays (825-of-859).
    Â
He finished the year with a 73.7 percent PFF.com offensive grade. The rating ranked second best among starting centers in Conference USA in 2024.
    Â
Fenimore helped the Flames finish the 2024 season ranked No. 4 in the country in rushing offense (250.7 yards per game) and No. 20 in fewest interceptions allowed (7).
    Â
The recipient of the 2025 Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN on Friday, December 12.
    Â
The official trophy presentation to the winner will be made at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee on January 21, 2026, in Omaha, Neb.
    Â
There were 16 offensive tackles and 15 guards on this year's watch list to go with 10 defensive tackles and nine centers.
    Â
The FWAA will announce six or seven Outland Trophy semifinalists on November 19 at a reception in Omaha, and those players will then be pared down to three finalists announced on November 25 on ESPN.
    Â
The Outland Trophy winner is chosen from those finalists who will be part of the annual FWAA All-America Team. The FWAA All-America Committee, after voting input from the entire membership, selects a 26-man first team and eventually the three Outland finalists. Only interior linemen on offense or defense are eligible for the award; ends and edge rushers are not eligible.
