
Colavito Tabbed as a USA Lacrosse All-American

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Midfielder Katie Colavito received Liberty's second selection as a USA Lacrosse Division I Women's All-American, as an honorable mention, the organization announced Thursday.
She receives the second USA Lacrosse All-American in program history. Lizzy Ferguson was named the program's first-ever All-American as an honorable mention in 2023.
Colavito continues to stack awards this season, already being named the ASUN Midfielder of the Year and the ASUN Championship MVP. The junior has recorded 37 goals (third on team), 16 assists and 53 points along with 37 caused turnovers (second on team), 69 draw controls (second on team) and 39 ground balls.
The junior recorded eight goals in two games in the ASUN Women's Lacrosse Championship. She recorded six caused turnovers and six ground balls, along with nine draw controls.
In addition, she was named to the ASUN All-Conference first team and the ASUN All-Academic team. The midfielder was named the ASUN Offensive Player of the Week on March 3.
Colavito recorded a season and a career-high 10 points with six goals and four assists in a 26-21 win over High Point on Feb. 26. The midfielder tallied eight points with five goals and three assists in an April 12 victory over Kennesaw State. She has totaled at least four caused turnovers in four games this season.
The midfielder guided No. 2 seed Liberty to its first-ever ASUN Championship title with a 14-8 triumph over defending champion, No. 4 seed Coastal Carolina on Saturday.
She leads a team that leads the country in caused turnovers per game (17.68) and ground balls per game (22.16). Liberty also ranks No. 10 nationally with 17.11 draw controls per game and No. 18 in scoring with 14.68 goals per game.

Liberty (12-7) prepares to take on No. 8 seed Johns Hopkins (12-6) in the first round of the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship on Friday at 2 p.m. at Homewood Field. The Lady Flames are making their first-ever appearance at the event. The contest will be streamed live on ESPN+. Tickets will be available at the gate for as low as $5.
