LYNCHBURG, Va. – For the second season in a row, Liberty's Emma Hess has been voted to the CUSA Women's Basketball All-Academic Team, it was announced on Thursday.
The senior guard from Beavercreek, Ohio is the only returner from the 2023-24 CUSA All-Academic Team among Thursday's five honorees. It marks Hess's third career conference all-academic recognition, as she was also tabbed to the 2022-23 ASUN All-Academic Team.
Hess owns a 3.78 GPA as she works toward a master's degree in sport management. She graduated in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, maintaining a 3.97 GPA through her undergraduate studies.
On the court, Hess is the Lady Flames' third-leading scorer (10.1 ppg) and ranks second on the team in both assists (2.3 apg) and three-pointers made (45). She became the 22nd 1,000-point scorer in program history during a Jan. 16 victory at UTEP and currently sits No. 2 in program history with 213 career three-pointers.
Hess and the second-place Lady Flames (21-6, 14-2 CUSA) will host conference leader Middle Tennessee (23-6, 15-1 CUSA) tonight at 7 p.m. inside Liberty Arena.
