
Porter Named to CSC Academic All-District® Men’s Basketball Team

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty men's basketball's Colin Porter has been named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team for his achievements in the classroom, as announced this afternoon by CSC.
This is the second straight year Porter has earned CSC Academic All-District distinction.
To earn inclusion on the team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, a starter or key reserve, have played in at least 90 percent of their team's games and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA).
Porter, a junior guard from Ashland, Ky., currently has a 3.71 GPA as a business administration major. He also earned a spot on this year's CUSA All-Academic team for a second straight year.
On the basketball court, Porter garnered All-CUSA honorable mention distinction during the 2024-25 campaign. Porter, who has started all 103 games of his three-year Flames career, started 35 games this season and averaged 9.1 points (career best), 4.3 assists (career best), 2.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals (career best) per game. He currently ranks 15th in the country and first in CUSA in assist/turnover ratio (2.88).
Porter notched five or more assists 17 times on the year, with Liberty going 16-1 in those contests. He scored in double figures 16 times. Porter was named the 2024 Paradise Jam MVP and to the Paradise Jam All-Tournament team.
Porter and the Flames finished the season with a 28-7 overall record and won both the outright CUSA regular season title and the CUSA Championship crown.
