
Moore, Swink Named to CSC Academic All-District Team ®

LYNCHBURG, VA. – Liberty catcher Tucker Moore and pitcher Josh Swink have been named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District Baseball Team ®, the College Sports Communicators announced this afternoon.
To earn inclusion on the team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 and have participated in at least 90 percent of the institution's games or started at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched a minimum of 35 innings.
The Flames have received 24 CSC Academic All-District ® honors in program history. Liberty has had six players go on to be named CSC Academic All-Americans ®. Richard DeWitt (1980), Trey Lambert (2014), Alex Close (2014 & 2015) and Aaron Anderson (2021 & 2022) were selected to the first team, while Jason Benham (1998) was recognized as a third team member and Dave Bream (1984) received honorable mention honors.
In 2022, Anderson became the first Liberty student-athlete in school history to be named an Academic All-American Team Member of the Year. He and Alex Close each were selected to two Academic All-American first teams during their time in a Liberty uniform.
Moore played in 47 games with 43 starts at catcher in 2025. The redshirt sophomore from Castle Rock, Colo., posted a 3.81 GPA in interdisciplinary studies during the 2024-25 academic year. He was named a 2024-25 CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal Recipient, recognizing Conference USA student-athletes with a 3.75 GPA or better, and earned inclusion on the 2024-25 CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Moore hit. .192 with 27 RBI and 16 runs. He hit five home runs and was 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts. He walked 17 times and posted a .318 on-base percentage.
The catcher was named the CUSA Player of the Week for March 10. Moore hit .500 with 10 RBI and hit his first two home runs of the season during the week, helping the Flames post a 4-0 week. Of his six hits during the week, he had four extra base hits as the catcher also had an RBI double and a two-run triple for a 1.250 slugging percentage.
Swink made a career-high 21 appearances with six starts in 2025 for the Flames. The sophomore left-hander from Newton, N.C., posted a 3.91 GPA in sport management during the 2024-25 academic year. He was named a 2024-25 CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal Recipient and earned inclusion on the 2024-25 CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Swink began the year as a starter before moving to the Liberty bullpen in the middle of the season. The left-hander finished the season with a 4-3 record, three saves and a 4.54 ERA over career-high 39.2 innings. He struck out 32 and walked 18.
After becoming a reliever, Swink posted a 2-1 mark with three saves and a 1.82 ERA over 24.2 innings in 15 appearances.
