Following a career performance and leading Liberty to an offensive explosion, the Flames' Evan Dickens has been named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week.
    Â
Dickens rushed for a career-high 217 yards and tied a Williams Stadium record with four rushing touchdowns during a 59-30 victory over Delaware.
    Â
The running back averaged 9.9 yards per carry and doubled his rushing touchdown total on the season in one game. He now ranks second in Conference USA in scoring (7.7 points per game) and rushing touchdowns (8).
    Â
The performance was his second 100-yard game of the season. He also surpassed the 100-yard mark on the ground with 114 yards and a touchdown at Jax State.
    Â
Dickens becomes the first Flame to rush for four scores in a game since Malik Willis did so against Coastal Carolina in the 2020 Cure Bowl. Â
    Â
The native of Roswell, Ga., rushed for three touchdowns in the first half, becoming the first Liberty player to rush for three first-half scores against an FBS opponent.
    Â
His 217 rushing yards are the highest total for a Liberty player in its FBS era (since 2018) and also the most by a Liberty player in a single game against an FBS opponent.
    Â
It was the most rushing yards by a Liberty player in any game since Rashad Jennings' 220 rushing yards against Youngstown State, Sept. 27, 2008.
    Â
His 72-yard touchdown rush in the third quarter was Liberty's longest rush from scrimmage since Dae Dae Hunter's 80-yard touchdown run against BYU during the 2022 season.
Â
What's Next:
The Flames will close out a three-game homestand when they welcome Missouri State, their second-straight CUSA newcomer, to Williams Stadium, next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
