LYNCHBURG, Va. – Playing its first game in 10 days, host Liberty showed no signs of rust against UVA Wise, Wednesday afternoon at Liberty Arena. Led by Lynn Peters' first career double-double (17 points, 10 rebounds), the Lady Flames recorded a dominating 80-35 victory.
The Lady Flames (3-2) snapped a two-game losing skid by posting season highs for points (80), margin of victory (45), rebound margin (+27), assists (21), steals (13), blocked shots (7), points in the paint (50) and bench points (40).
UVA Wise, which classified the game as an exhibition, remains at 3-1 to begin the season. The Highland Cavaliers, who average 76.3 ppg, shot just 17.7 percent (11-of-62) from the field.

- Leon, who had only totaled five points through her first four collegiate outings, set career highs for points (15), steals (4), assists (3) and rebounds (2) while playing a team-high 25 minutes.
- Stout (13 points) scored in double digits for the sixth consecutive game, dating back to last year.
- Nwaobi's 10 rebounds gave her double-digit rebounds for the third game in a row and exactly 50 boards through five collegiate outings.
- Mills knocked down all three of her triples in the fourth quarter, giving her 14 long-distance connections for the season.
- Making her third straight start at point guard, Thompson equaled her career highs for points (9) and steals (3).
- Lydie Mwamba equaled her career high of six rebounds and blocked a career-best three shots.
- Maleah Alexander was the only Lady Flame in uniform who did not score a point on Wednesday, but she contributed a career-high four rebounds and a career-high four assists.
- Liberty's 61 rebounds, 21 of which came at the offensive end, were the team's most since Dec. 10, 2016, when the Lady Flames grabbed 64 boards against West Liberty.
- Wednesday marked the first meeting between Liberty and UVA Wise since Nov, 22, 2011. The Lady Flames are now 5-3 all-time against the Highland Cavaliers in a series which dates back to the 1977-78 season, Liberty's third year as a program.
