LYNCHBURG, Va. – Playing its first game in 10 days, host Liberty showed no signs of rust against UVA Wise, Wednesday afternoon at Liberty Arena. Led by Lynn Peters' first career double-double (17 points, 10 rebounds), the Lady Flames recorded a dominating 80-35 victory.
The Lady Flames (3-2) snapped a two-game losing skid by posting season highs for points (80), margin of victory (45), rebound margin (+27), assists (21), steals (13), blocked shots (7), points in the paint (50) and bench points (40).
UVA Wise, which classified the game as an exhibition, remains at 3-1 to begin the season. The Highland Cavaliers, who average 76.3 ppg, shot just 17.7 percent (11-of-62) from the field.
