Bush and Jones Named to CSC Academic All-District® Team

Two standouts for the Flames on the gridiron this fall also showed a strong performance in the classroom.

Liberty's TJ Bush and A'Khori Jones have been named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District® Team.

To earn inclusion on the team, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve, have played in at least 90 percent of their team's games or started at least 66 percent of the team's contests and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.

Voting has now begun for the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Football Team. The first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Jan. 28.

Liberty has had at least one player named to the CSC Academic All-District® Football Team each of the last seven years and a total of 34 selections in program history.

Bush earned Conference USA second-team honors in 2024 and has started all 26 games at defensive end for the Flames the last two seasons.

The native of Woodbridge, Va., finished his sophomore season with a career-high 58 tackles and led the Flames with 9.5 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks. He was tied for eighth in Conference USA with .79 tackles for a loss per game.

Jones started all 12 games during the 2024 season and ranked fifth on the team with a career-high 53 tackles. He joined Bush on the CUSA All-Conference team listing as an honorable mention selection.

Jones more than doubled his career tackle total during the 2024 season, as the native of Macon, Ga., came into the season with 34 career stops during his first two seasons at Liberty.
