Liberty Storylines

CUSA co-leader Liberty (13-5, 6-1 CUSA) will continue its homestand on Thursday, hosting conference newcomer Kennesaw State (8-10, 3-4 CUSA) in the Lady Flames' annual Play4Kay contest.
The Lady Flames will look to continue several winning streaks. Liberty has won seven straight home games and a season-best five consecutive contests overall.
Liberty is 11-0 all-time against the Owls, with all 11 matchups happening during the Lady Flames' five seasons as an ASUN member (2018-19 through 2022-23).
Emma Hess is averaging a team-best 14.4 ppg during the Lady Flames' five-game winning streak. She is two triples away from being the second Lady Flame ever to make 200 career three-pointers.
Three triples would enable Asia Boone to become the second fastest Lady Flame ever to knock down 100 three-pointers. Thursday will be her 53rd career game.
Avery Mills earned her second CUSA Freshman of the Week honor on Monday after scoring 14 points during an 83-54 win over FIU. She has helped the Liberty bench rank No. 13 nationally with 28.6 ppg.

Notes and Anecdotes

Although Kennesaw State is new to CUSA this season, Liberty has faced the Owls more often (11 times) than any other conference opponent. The Lady Flames and KSU faced one another 11 times during Liberty's five seasons of ASUN Conference membership (2018-19 through 2022-23).
Liberty is 11-0 all-time against Kennesaw State, but eight of the 11 matchups have been decided by 10 points or fewer.
The Lady Flames have only played one opponent more often without ever suffering a loss (14-0 versus Birmingham-Southern).
Liberty's first-ever ASUN Conference victory came at Kennesaw State (67-61 on Jan. 15, 2019). Additionally, the Lady Flames' final game at the Vines Center was a 91-86 triumph over the Owls in the ASUN quarterfinals on March 7, 2020. The contest saw KSU's Amani Johnson score a facility-record 45 points.
Thursday's game features the reigning CUSA Player of the Week (KSU"s Prencis Harden) and the Freshman of the Week (Liberty's Avery Mills).
Liberty leads CUSA and ranks No. 7 nationally in three-point field goal percentage (37.9). Kennesaw State sits No. 12 in the nation in three-point field goal percentage defense (25.0), allowing just 4.5 made triples per game.

Liberty has made 27 straight free throw attempts, a streak which began during the third quarter at New Mexico State on Jan. 18.
For the season, the Lady Flames are shooting 75.9 percent from the line. The program single-season record is 74.5 percent from the 2014-15 campaign.
