Athletics Department GPA Reaches New Record of 3.38 during Fall 2024 Semester

Liberty's student-athletes continue to thrive on the field of competition and in the classroom, as the athletics department posted an all-time record high GPA during the Fall 2024 semester.

The LU Flames finished the Fall 2024 semester with a 3.38 cumulative GPA, marking the highest end-of-semester GPA in athletics department history.

Overall, the cumulative GPA for Liberty's 600-plus student-athletes has risen in 14 out of the last 16 semesters.

Additionally, all 20 of Liberty's NCAA Division I athletics programs now have a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher, another first in Liberty Athletics history.

Individually, a total of 128 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during the Fall 2024 semester, while 67 finished the first semester of the academic year with an unblemished 4.0 cumulative GPA.

At the conclusion of the Fall 2024 semester, 459 student-athletes are maintaining a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA (75.8 percent).

Working behind the scenes to provide Liberty's student-athletes with all the necessary tools to excel in the classroom is Liberty's Academic Affairs for Athletics staff.

This group of dedicated individuals spends countless hours each week working alongside Liberty's 600-plus student-athletes. Their staff continues to help Liberty student-athletes thrive in their pursuit of academic, athletic, social and spiritual development.

The top team GPA in the athletics department continues to be Liberty's women's swimming & diving program. The Lady Flames finished the Fall 2024 semester with a 3.76 team GPA and are maintaining a 3.71 cumulative GPA.

Liberty's top men's program is the men's tennis team. The Flames posted a 3.49 GPA during the Fall 2024 semester and are maintaining a 3.61 cumulative GPA.

All three of Liberty's teams who claimed a conference title during the Fall 2024 semester also excelled in the classroom.

Liberty's men's and women's cross country teams swept the Conference USA titles and both posted top-10 finishes at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships.

In the classroom, the women's cross country/track & field program posted a 3.49 GPA during the Fall 2024 semester and holds a cumulative GPA of 3.53.

The men's team finished the Fall 2024 semester with a 3.33 GPA and is maintaining a 3.35 cumulative GPA.

Liberty's women's soccer program captured the Conference USA regular season title. The Lady Flames finished the Fall 2024 semester with a 3.68 GPA and are holding a 3.60 cumulative GPA as a program.
