Women’s Tennis Opens Fall Season at Jimmy Powell Invitational with Solid Doubles Performance

ELON, N.C. – The Liberty women's tennis team made its fall season debut at the Jimmy Powell Invitational hosted by Elon this weekend. Liberty left the five-team, two-day event with a 13-6 overall record and a 7-1 team doubles record.
Liberty freshman Yoanna Radulova collected her first collegiate wins while not dropping a match over the weekend. The Plovdiv, Bulgaria native earned a 4-0 doubles record with partner Sadie Daavettila and collected a 3-0 singles mark.
The Lady Flames had four participants in the event including returners Daavettila (4-0 doubles, 1-2 singles), Daniella O'Neill (3-1 doubles, 1-1 singles) and Maria Turchetto (3-1 doubles, 1-2 singles).
Liberty faced Elon most of the weekend, collecting a 4-4 overall mark (2-1 doubles, 2-3 singles). The Lady Flames dominated their matches against East Carolina, collecting a 7-0 mark (4-0 doubles, 3-0 singles). Liberty went 2-2 overall (1-0 doubles, 1-2 singles) while matched up with Virginia Tech.
