LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty has been selected as the host site for both the 2025 Conference USA Men's and Women's Tennis Championships. The women's championship is set between April 17-20 and the men's tournament is scheduled for April 19-21.
Both the Liberty men's and women's tennis teams finished the 2024 season as runner-up in each of their championship tournaments. The men's team entered the event as the No. 2 seed and topped No. 3 seed Jacksonville State, 4-2 before falling in the final to No. 1 seed and host Middle Tennessee, 4-2. The women's team secured the No. 2 seed in last season's championship and bested No. 7 seed New Mexico State and No. 3 seed Jacksonville State, both by 4-0 scores to advance to the final. The Lady Flames were taken down by host and No. 1 seed FIU, 4-1 in the final round.
Liberty is prepared to host both the conference men's and women's tennis championships for the second time in each program's history. In 2026, the Big South held both the Men's and Women's Tennis Championships in Lynchburg. Liberty has hosted multiple individual Atlantic Sun Men's and Women's Tennis Championship matches but did not serve as the host for the tournament semifinal or final.
Liberty was selected to serve as the host of five Championships in the spring for their respective sports. Conference USA will be holding the Indoor Track & Field (Feb. 28-March 1), both tennis (April 17-21) and Baseball (May 21-25) championships this spring. The Atlantic Sun has chosen Liberty as the host site for the 2025 Women's Lacrosse Championship (dates TBD).
The men's tennis team opens its 2025 spring season on Jan. 18 at home against Radford. The women's tennis debuts its spring season with a home doubleheader on Jan. 17 against Elon and Longwood.
