Following an historic football season in 2023, excitement on the Mountain is at an all-time high heading into the Flames' home opener on August 31.
    Â
Flames Nation will get its first look at the 2024 roster when Liberty hosts its annual Fan Appreciation Day event on Saturday, August 17. Williams Stadium gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with a scrimmage set to begin at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
    Â
Prior to entering the stadium, kids will be able to enjoy inflatables at Gate 1 starting at 5 p.m., along with a meet and greet opportunity with Sparky and the Flames cheerleaders.
    Â
Fans who show they have downloaded the Liberty Flames mobile app will be able to pick up a commemorative Liberty Football CUSA Champions stadium cup at the marketing gazebo on the West Concourse. These cups are in limited supply, so be sure to check in early.
    Â
Just prior to the scrimmage, the Spirit of the Mountain marching band will perform a portion of its game day show to get Flames Nation ready for kickoff.
    Â
The event will also feature a special meal for members of the Flames Club. Starting at 5:30 p.m., Mission BBQ will serve meals to Flames Club members behind Section 109 of the stadium. Flames Club members need to purchase a ticket in advance for this meal.
    Â
All Flames Club members can also scan their digital membership card behind Section 103 for a free popcorn from the concession stand. For more information on joining the Flames Club or Fan Appreciation Flames Club events, call or text (434) 582-2582.
    Â
Following the anticipated hour-long scrimmage, Liberty Head Football Coach Jamey Chadwell and the entire football team will be available for autographs inside the Liberty Indoor Practice Facility.
    Â
After gathering autographs from Liberty's football coaches and players, fans will be encouraged to show their support for Liberty's men's soccer team.
    Â
The Flames are set to scrimmage Virginia Tech at Osborne Stadium, starting at 7 p.m. This event is also free and open to the public.
