EUGENE, Ore. – Liberty alum Carson Waters placed 11th in the men's pole vault final at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field, Sunday evening at Hayward Field.
This matches Waters' placement from the U.S. Olympic Trials final three years ago. This time around, the 2018 Liberty graduate cleared the opening height of 17-11.25 before missing all three tries at 18-5.25.
The 28-year-old had punched his ticket to Sunday's final with a clutch third-attempt clearance at a season-best 18-6.5 during Friday's qualifying round.
Calli Doan will be Liberty's third and final competitor at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field when the three-time All-American races in the women's steeplechase semifinals on Monday. Doan is entered in the first of two heats, set for 8:59 p.m. Eastern on NBC.
