Liberty Golf, fresh off a 2024 Conference USA title and another NCAA Men's Golf Regional appearance, will have a new facility to hone its skills during the 2024-25 athletics season.

Earlier this spring, construction began on the Liberty Golf Practice Facility, adjacent to the Clarkson Clubhouse and the Hall Landrey Training Facility at Lone Jack Road on Liberty Mountain.

The Liberty Golf Practice Facility will add over 100 acres to the Clarkson Clubhouse area, home of the Liberty Golf program since it opened in 2014.

This new addition will create a training course which will include six greens with varied approaches that will play as 18 holes at a distance as long as 7,940 yards.

When the Liberty Golf Practice Facility is completed in its entirety, this practice area will give the Liberty Men's Golf team one of the best practice facilities in the nation.

The design and construction process of the facility is headed up by Ed Carton, who has worked with world renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio. The Carton Design Studio was established in 2001 and uses the latest CAD technology to create spectacular golf courses, that enhance the surrounding environment and inspire golfers.

The Liberty Golf Practice Facility, which was made possible by an anonymous lead gift, is scheduled to be playable by late fall of 2024.

The facility will be exclusive to the men's golf program. The team has won eight conference titles (2011, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2021, 2023 and 2024) and qualified for 12 of the last 13 NCAA Men's Golf Regionals.

The Liberty Golf Practice Facility will help prepare the Flames for when they host the NCAA Men's Golf Regional at Poplar Grove Golf Course in Amherst, Va. in May 2025.

With a top-five finish at the NCAA Regional, Liberty will earn its fifth trip to the NCAA Men's Golf National Championship in program history (2012, 2019, 2021 and 2022).

Liberty's four previous trips to the NCAA Men's Golf National Championship are spotlighted by a 10th place showing at the 2012 national championship, contested at the famed Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
